How To : Visually Record Ideas Using an iPad Visual recording is similar to audio recording: they both use the same concept that is : recording. One uses voice and the other uses visual cues like diagrams, charts, lines, arrows...etc. Think about visual recording as visual mind mapping. This is Visual Recording and NOT (in this case) Visual Facilitation Via Shamblesguru

FaceTune is a great photo-retouching app for iOS devices (iPhones and iPads). Designed specifically for retouching human faces, FaceTune provides a specific set of tools to help you do just that. To appreciate how good the tool is just look at anyone of the many video tutorials available (link below) which show you techniques and steps to clean up just about any pretty face. Pretty impressive. Great ease of use and highly specific effects make this tool a hard one to beat. Too bad there isn't also a Web version. Price: $2.99 More video tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/user/Facetuneapp?feature=watch More info: http://www.facetuneapp.com/ App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facetune/id606310581?mt=8 Delete the scoop?

"The best type of curriculum for preparing students for the workforce is one that focuses on real-world problem-solving. It sounds simple, but for the first time, we have clearly established a link between students learning 21st century skills and future work success.
"In the study, the 21st century skills include knowledge construction, real-world problem-solving, collaboration, self-regulation, skilled communication, technology, and global awareness. Of all these,real-world problem-solving is the most important factor of higher work quality. Positive responses to the following two items have the strongest link to work quality: “Worked on a long-term project that took several classes to complete”“Used what you were learning about to develop solutions to real-world problems in your community or in the world”

Here’s a list of blogs that feed my teaching soul, hunger for knowledge, and need for deeper insights into teaching, learning and writing. There are so many wonderful blogs that it’s impossible to list them all here, so I’m listing the ones that have been most relevant to my own professional development. As such, they should be relevant to any teacher who wants to turn online teaching and/or publishing into a fully-fledged career.

The Israel Longhorn Project will be using “Stockmanship and Range Health”
Stockmanship is the science of cattle herd movement without force or stress on the animals. By understanding the body space of animals we can move cattle calmly and quietly with little effort. As in humans all animals have body space. Each of you has experience this when someone has move to close to you when speaking making you uncomfortable and you move away to your comfortable zone. You learn to stay in your comfortable zone. That is what we will teach to the cattle to stay in their comfortable zone and to moving cattle toward it with “Pressure and Release”. Cattle that are moved this way are “Happy” and appear to enjoy moving. We can use this method to prevent over-grazing and over-resting. This means managing periods that plants are grazed and allowing adequate recovery time for both plants and soils. This is and supports “Holistic” ranching and supports the environment. You can find us at: Israel Longhorn Project; Robin Rosenblatt; 815 Hill St Apt 5; Belmont, Ca 94002; 650.631.9270; robin@longhornproject.org or <http://longhornproject.org> We are a 501c 3 nonprofit.
