What is the most common age group that has a stroke?

That depends on the health of the person, but the most common age would be in ones mid life. age 45-50. In that time frame though women are more susceptible to having a stroke.

Does gender play a role in a stroke? If so why?

Yes, men are slightly more likely to have a stroke than women. untill one hits the midlife age then it switches and woman are more likely to have a stroke. the reason for women to be more at risk is due to stress.

How long does it take to recover from a stroke? Also, what are the recovery procedures?

That depends on the severity of the stroke. It can be anywhere from a couple months to never, strokes are the leading cause of disabilities among americans. some of the recovery procedures are kemo and radiation therapy, medicine and also physical therapy.

What are short-term effects after a stroke?

emotional changes, speech and physical characteristics would be most common.

What are the long-term effects after a stroke?

memory loss, loss of function in arms or legs, vision and depth perception could be affected. major things could be personality and memory changes.

What kinds of therapy will be required after having a stroke?

What are the most common affected areas of the brain when having a stroke?
a stroke can affect anywhere in your brain, the right or left hemisphere, the cerebellum or the brain stem. Each part of your brain controls different things.
