Baku has the privilege for being the next in line of prestigious venues for IGF, such as the cities the conference took place within last years. The proposed main theme of the 2012 IGF annual meeting is “Internet Governance for Sustainable Human, Economic and Social Development”.

1 December 2015 | The internet in Africa is entirely different to the internet used in the developed world. In America or Europe, the internet is generally something you surf on a computer or tablet -- a device with a 10-inch to 15-inch screen.

In some countries there were waiting lists for fixed telephones.  The advent of mobile devices that put you in touch with people immediately through voice and text revolutionized the way people communicated.  They were freer to communicate and were not tied down.  New technologies have only made this phenomenon more incredible.
