Top Bloggers Are Now Making $1 Million a Year

Top Bloggers Are Now Making $1 Million a Year | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it

It’s no secret that certain fashion bloggers are making big bucks by commanding top dollar for everything from appearances to collaborating with designers. Just how much they’re raking in, though, might come as a bit of a shock: Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that certain top-tier bloggers are now earning upwards of $1 million a year. Let that sink in.

Some examples of how fashion bloggers are pulling in that kind of cash:

According WWD, Stuart Weitzman reportedly paid The Blonde Salad’s Chiara Ferragni about 30,000 euros, or more than $40,000, to attend its Milan flagship opening last year. Bryan Grey-Yambao, better known as Bryan Boy, meanwhile received $15,000 for attending the same event. Coty Inc. reportedly paid $1,000 to $2,000 to various bloggers to write a post about Marc Jacobs’ Daisy fragrance campaign....

Change or Die

Change or Die | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it

Changing the behavior of people isn't just the biggest challenge in health care. It's the most important challenge for businesses trying to compete in a turbulent world, saysJohn Kotter, a Harvard Business School professor who has studied dozens of organizations in the midst of upheaval: "The central issue is never strategy, structure, culture, or systems. The core of the matter is always about changing the behavior of people."

Seek Experiences That Positively Reshape Your Brain

Seek Experiences That Positively Reshape Your Brain | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it
New research looks at how experiences can positively shift our self-perception.

I  often hear people say, "I'm the kind of person who…" or, "I'm not a people person.” These seemingly off-the-cuff comments suggest they’re resigned to not changing their self-perception—regardless if it’s inaccurate or self-defeating. My longtime colleague, Dr. Richard Davidson, founder and chair of the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds, at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, has studied neuroplasticity, the ability of the mind to change throughout life.

HIGH-SCHOOL TEACHER: In 16 Years Of Teaching, Nothing Has Disrupted My Classroom More Than Snapchat's New Update

HIGH-SCHOOL TEACHER: In 16 Years Of Teaching, Nothing Has Disrupted My Classroom More Than Snapchat's New Update | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it
When Snapchat introduced its new update, the school day became a wash.

Yesterday, Snapchat released a huge update, its biggest in months.

Now, instead of just sharing snaps and clips that disappear at a moment's notice, the update lets you text inside Snapchat for the first time, and once you leave a conversation, the messages disappear. The new Snapchat lets you video-call a friend.

No one was more excited about the update than Snapchat's target demographic: teens. And no one could have used a warning about the huge in-app changes more than high-school teachers, such as Tracie Schroeder, who tweeted this out yesterday afternoon:

Tom George's insight:

It is just amazing the speed in which social apps like Snapchat are disrupting the learning, and sharing landscape

8 Brilliant Landing Page Examples You Need to See

8 Brilliant Landing Page Examples You Need to See | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it
Get inspired by these 8 brilliant landing page examples.

Learning how to put together an A+ landing page is tricky.

There are so many elements that a top-notch landing page needs, and making those elements the "best" they can be often depends on what your landing page goals are.

Take form length for example. It's just one of the many components you need to optimize, but best practices will tell you that both short and long forms perform well -- it all depends on whether you want to generate a lot of overall form submissions, or a smaller number of quality submissions.

The Most Undervalued Leadership Traits Of Women

The Most Undervalued Leadership Traits Of Women | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it
It’s impossible to respect, value and admire great leadership if you can’t identify what makes a leader great. Because of this, the identity crisis I have written about that exists in today’s workplace is something that women leaders in particular have been facing for much too long. While the tide is changing and more women are being elevated into leadership roles, there is still much work to do. As of July 2013, there were only 19 female elected presidents and prime ministers in power around the globe. In the business world, women currently hold only 4.6 percent of Fortune 500 CEO positions and the same percentage of Fortune 1000 CEO positions. As women continue their upward trajectory in the business world, they have yet to be fully appreciated for the unique qualities and abilities they bring to the workplace.

API Aggregation And Mashups Will Be Huge In 2014 | Internet Billboards | Futurism, Ideas, Leadership in Business | Scoop.it

As we move into 2014 the complexity of the world wide web continues to evolve. One of the developments that will effectively help to minimize the learning curve, as well as offer a much higher end user experience, is the advancement of the application programming interface. (API)

If you are not familiar with what this is, basically it allows developers to access programming from established programs and websites and to use the information in combination with their work to display content. This is probably a very simplistic way to explain the API, but that is it in a nutshell.

This is a great article that expounds on the topic but also the need for developers to be able to combine api’s in a mashup to create superior products and experiences for end users. A great a article.
