WEBSITE RANKING IN SEARCH -- An excellent post that explains in plain English why your website does not come up when people look for your main keyword phrases.  


The reasons are:

 - Not an established authority (link popularity)

 - No dedicated page (keyword phrase focus)

 - Misuse of keyword phrase (relevance)

 - Technical problems

 - Poor navigation

 - Lack of internal linking

 - Lack of social activity
