(Phys.org) —Getting the blues is rarely a desirable experience—unless you're a solar cell, that is.

The "blues" they are talking about, are the bluish hues of the electromagnetic spectrum that are not effectively capturing energy from simple solar cells, because the blue photons (and yes they have a color), have excess energy that a conventional solar cell can't capture.  Very important to read if you're in the solar / photo-voltaic business / technology
