Many affiliate programs offer on boarding strategies to full partnerships between advertisers and publishers. You need to know the business model of each program and how it compliments your operating model.

Study: 72% Of Consumers Expect Brands To Respond Within An Hour To Complaints Posted On Twitter | internet mobile marketing insights and facts | Scoop.it

A new study from social software provider Lithium reveals 53 percent of consumers expect a brand to respond to a tweet within an hour. That number jumps to 72 percent of consumers expecting a response if the tweet is a complaint about the brand or its products.

Lithium commissioned Millward Brown Digital to conduct the study evaluating consumer expectations when interacting with brands on Twitter. Surveying 501 respondents who claimed they actively engaged with businesses on Twitter, the study found a brand’s response time to tweets can significantly impact the brand’s overall reputation.

When asked how quickly a response is expected from a brand on Twitter, 65 percent of the survey participants said they want a response in two hours time or less, with 20 percent expecting a response in 30 minutes or less....

... is Baidu , and the misdirection wasn't intentional.
Rakesh Raghuvanshi's insight:

the long tail argues that in a brick-and-mortar economy, selection was limited to blockbusters and best-sellers due to inventory limitations and the geographical location of customers. This meant that consumers were limited to what retailers could carry, or approximately the top 20% of products. With the advent of the digital economy, the dynamics have changed. No longer constrained by geography and space limitations, Internet retailers can profit from selling a lot of low-demand, low-volume products. These products collectively have a greater market share than the handful of best-sellers and blockbusters. Online retailers can tap into the remaining 80%. Baidu intends to apply this concept to apps.

Screw Sexy, Be Helpful: Creating Compelling Content in a Snoozeworthy Industry | internet mobile marketing insights and facts | Scoop.it
Learn how even the most "boring" companies can create compelling content.Yes, home financing itself is a snoozeworthy industry. However, the ideas surrounding home financing can be very exciting to those who want to know about buying a home.Therein lies the key to turning boring industries into inbound marketing machines: Warm leads don’t find your content boring. Anyway, back to my inbound addiction. I’ll often think of companies that could benefit from inbound marketing. I used to work at a hearing aid center that carried very niche products, for example. I’ve pondered whether I should drop off Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah’s Inbound Marketing book to them to get on board. Whenever I see a billboard with an insurance agent or an attorney advertising their services, I think about calling them and introducing them to the inbound philosophy. This obsession lead me to become an inbound evangelist, recently presenting at INBOUND 2013 on the topic, "Making Boring Industry Content Work for Your Business."...

Great comment by @Marc Kneepkens on his Rescoop to his Competitive Edge feed:

Marc Kneepkens's insight:

The 'digital experience' is changing marketing. People still respond emotionally to an 'increasing' numer of stimuli. The art of getting a response must adapt to the new media. Every day new tools and new ways to reach the client appear.

Successful companies understand this. Companies such as Google, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, focus new ways of reaching out to the comsumers' not so new emotional respons. Reaching out has grown into a huge "new" phenomena called social media.

Playing our new social media games well and understanding them will mean success or failure.

Google Voice Search: A new wrinkle for social marketers & small ... | internet mobile marketing insights and facts | Scoop.it
Mobile search often turns out to be local search. As Emarketer reminds us, mobile Internet users reach for their devices to route their trip home, read reviews of local restaurants and find the location of a nearby business.
Rakesh Raghuvanshi's insight:

mobile Internet users reach for their devices to route their trip home, read reviews of local restaurants and find the location of a nearby business. And as more consumers convert to smartphones and tablets, the number of local searches is rising fast.

At the same time, they’re often connecting with their friends in social media such as Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare. In addition to traditional social media, new ways of connecting with your friends are popping up all the time. One interesting example is Waze, which Google is acquiring for $966 million. This navigation software includes information from others in your local area as they encounter traffic problems or other hazards.

Branding unbound - afaqs

Branding unbound afaqs What's more startling is that 70 per cent of the people use their mobile phones to compare product prices and 50 per cent of mobile searches lead to purchases; but - here's the clincher - 90 per cent of the companies do not...
Rakesh Raghuvanshi's insight:

the reason why so low investments are made on Mobile marketing spend is because every marketer has experienced the push based marketing (and is convinced it’s a nuisance) but forgets to remember the searched based experience like calling Just dial for information as one doesn't see that as advertising simply because he/she  called for it and purchased the product or services from the numbers he she  asked for without realizing  that merchant paid for that lead. Nor does one complain when one searches for products and services on the go on your mobile in Gmap and see information tagged as you are looking for information … so yes its time brands realise the power of contextual content to connect at the last mile .And we deliver exactly that through our product platform Niftywindow

How To (Really) Measure The Value Of A Facebook Fan - AllFacebook

How To (Really) Measure The Value Of A Facebook Fan - AllFacebook | internet mobile marketing insights and facts | Scoop.it

Studies analyzing the value of Facebook fans, like this one from Syncapse, have been attracting lot of attention recently. So what really matters in measuring marketing results?

Studies analyzing the value of Facebook fans, like this one from Syncapse, have been attracting lot of attention recently.

The primary results of that study were that Facebook brand fans are:

- 80 percent more likely than non-fans to be users of a brand

- Spend 43 percent more than non-fans in respective categories

- 11 percent more likely to continue using the brand than non-fans (loyal consumers)

- 85 percent more likely to recommend your brand compared with 60 percent of non-fans

And that consumers like brand pages for two reasons:

- Coupons, discounts, and rewards

- Showing support for brands or receiving regular updates

While this study and others like it point to positive attributes of Facebook fans, it’s critical for brand marketers to really stop and ask themselves: Isn’t this just pointing out that good customers are more likely to like our Facebook page?...
