10 Ways To Use Mobile Devices in the Classroom - Edudemic

10 Ways To Use Mobile Devices in the Classroom - Edudemic | internet marketing | Scoop.it

"It is pretty much a given these days that students have mobile phones, tablets, and e-readers. Leveraging what your students already have and already know how to use is a smart idea – even if you aren’t implementing a full-on BYOD classroom environment. There are probably hundreds of ways, if not more, to have students use their mobile devices in the classroom in a format geared towards learning rather than for leisure. The handy infographic below takes a look at ten fairly general ways to use devices in the classroom. The general nature of some of the recommendations makes it a great starting point if this is a newer concept for you or for a particular group that you’re working. "

Google Play for Education to allow multiple tablet users ~ Education Dive

Google Play for Education to allow multiple tablet users ~ Education Dive | internet marketing | Scoop.it

by Allie Gross

"Like many competitors in the ed-tech sector, Google Play for Education appears to be trying to carve a niche for itself in the largely Apple-dominated marketplace. Allowing schools to split the costs of tablets by dividing the number they need by five will make a huge difference for those wanting to integrate tech into classrooms on a tight budget."

Apple Working on Fix to iMessage Glitch

Apple Working on Fix to iMessage Glitch | internet marketing | Scoop.it
Apple is working on a fix for a glitch affecting iMessage, its iOS-device-to-iOS-device messaging system, according to a statement given to the tech site Re/code. “We recently fixed a server-side iMessage bug which was causing an issue for some users, and we have an additional bug fix in a future software update,” an Apple representative told Re/code. Apple urged those still experiencing iMessage issues to contact AppleCare. It gets stuck in a kind of “iMessage purgatory,” as Lifehacker writer Adam Pash put it.  The issue is thought to be in the way that Apple recognizes your contacts, reading certain phone numbers as Apple device owners even after they’ve switched over to Android or Windows Phone.

Apple v. Samsung, Unspun: Patent Warfare Is a Slow, Costly Habit with Few Winners

Apple v. Samsung, Unspun: Patent Warfare Is a Slow, Costly Habit with Few Winners | internet marketing | Scoop.it
NEW YORK — There’s one clear winner in the latest in a long round of patent-infringement lawsuits between Apple and Samsung: the children of the lawyers working for each client, who can now rest assured that Mom or Dad billed enough hours to cover tuition at any top-tier college in America. For infringing three of the five patents Apple had asserted, the jury awarded Apple $119.6 million — or a bit more than 5 percent of the $2.2 billion it had sought — while directing Apple to fork over $158,400 to Samsung for infringing one of the Korean conglomerate’s patents. Samsung, in turn, cited 6,226,449, describing camera operation; See also the jury’s 12-page verdict form.) It’s tempting to speculate that the blood-feud nature of this fight will lead Apple to send over its payment in bags of pennies.

Apple’s Recent Hires Point to a Biosensing iWatch

Apple’s Recent Hires Point to a Biosensing iWatch | internet marketing | Scoop.it
Apple is building a team of senior medical technology executives, raising hackles in the biotechnology community and offering a hint of what the iPhone maker may be planning for its widely expected iWatch and other wearable technology. In the past year, Apple has snapped up at least half a dozen prominent experts in biomedicine, according to LinkedIn profile changes. One prominent researcher moved two weeks ago, and Apple is recruiting other medical professionals and hardware experts, although the number of hires is not clear, said two people familiar with the hiring, who declined to be named. Apple is under pressure to deliver on Cook’s promise of new product categories this year.

This fall, Apple is expected to launch a larger, 4.7-inch-screened follow-up to last year’s iPhone 5s. Supposed designs of this “iPhone 6” have hit the Web in the form of alleged schematics and digital renderings based upon those schematics. Video of this iPhone 6 model was posted to French blog NowhereElse.fr and shows a thin, white, iPhoneish-looking device, with famous home button and rear Apple Logo in tow.

Is Apple engineering its next iPhone to have a beach body? The last three iPhones — the iPhone 5s, the iPhone 5, and the iPhone 4s — were all released in either September or October.
