I love this quick SlideShare program about what makes presentations rock that really packs a punch. All my smart, capable MBA students struggle with creating compelling persuasive presentations. All of my senior executives struggle with the same. So what would Steve Jobs do? How do you create a compelling presentation that brings results? As this SlideShare shows us, it is all about distilling your presentation down to its core essence -- and then sharing it as a story, with stories, and with strong visuals. But there is much more to this program than that message -- so take a few minutes to flip through it and dig into its contents. You will be glad you did. Wake up people's brains! Follow the rules given here. They work. Yet if we know what to do, why don't we do it? Because it takes time, as this program says. But think of it this way: can you affort NOT to invest the time when money and business and your reputation is on the table? Nope. via flickr.com Love this set of doodles from Sunni Brown on the art of storytelling by Robert McKee. All businesses should take the art of storytelling seriously, it really can set you apart from the competition.
There are great points about story here for every business person. I particularly like, "Don't imitate anyone," and "It's not language, it's far beyond that."
Keep this one for your infographics file :) Via Karen Dietz Delete the scoop?

What is data storytelling?
It should, but unless we can find the answer to the question “so what?” all that data just seems time-consuming. That’s why we practice data storytelling. It’s the act of data visualization before, during and after mining/analyzing data.
For all of us who want to know how to share the stories data tells, then this article gives a great framework. You'll have to read down to the end, however, to get to the gold.
Most of the article is about measuring social media campaigns. Then we get to the good stuff: the model for storytelling with data that contains 5 elements.
The other insights are good, so grab those. Then pay attention to those 5 elements and start working on your data stories. The model should get you started. Via Karen Dietz

Glad you like it Debra! It seems to be 'nonprofit week' here and I also really like the additional articles I've curated here -- they've got great creative insights! I hope you dig into those too. Stay awesome :)
