Shaping the Way We Teach English is a fantastic resource that I came across recently. The resource is similar to other online courses from colleges and universities. It's free and accessible through The Online Language Center of the University of Oregon and it is a pretty complete teacher training course that has videos , viewing tasks, transcripts, observation checklists and even recommended supplementary web based reading. I watched the episode 12 about teaching very young learners before my interview. Gives an amazing summary which really helps interviewees to look more professional and knowledgeable

"About the Project: Frankenstein is a great novel, but it is difficult novel in many ways. The first challenge is helping students unlearn what they know about the story. I do this by simply asking my students to identify the "Frankenstein" in Frankenstein. Most students will answer that the name refers to the monster--the tall guy with green paint and bolts on the side of his head. Actually, the name refers to Victor Frankenstein, the creator of the monster or "creature" as he is often called.
I then ask students to tell me what they know of the search for the Northwest Passage. Again, this is a topic that few students know about. Neither did I, in fact, when I first read the novel.
After a few articles, illustrations, and maps about this topic, I do not begin Frankenstein, but instead have students read an abridged version of ..." Via GoogleLitTrips Reading List

I'm happy to announce the publication of the long awaited Frankenstein Google Lit Trip.
This project was developed by Mr. Gregory Greenleaf and his 2012-2013 Advanced Placement English students at Greely High School in Cumberland, Maine.
I'm also pretty excited about having used Screenflow in order to create the video preview for the Frankenstein Google Lit Trip. Screenflow is capable of capturing 1080 HD video of the computer screen so detail is much easier to see. Take a look at your ‘average’ high school student in the United States, and you can wager a pretty good guess that the one foreign language that they’re learning as part of the standard curriculum is Spanish. Delete the scoop?
