Teens tune in on their own time

Due to the huge array of viewing options available, there is no need to travel away from the comforts of home to watch movies. Due to the technological devices that make it easy to view movies from home, teenagers will only go to the theaters if the movie is worth their time. Systems such as Blockbuster and Redbox offer movie-watchers a wide variety of movies to watch from their homes. Certain TV shows attract their audiences by broadcasting controversial people and actions. "The most risque shows are usually reality shows, which makes teens believe other teens act in certain innapropriate ways in real life," says O'Brien. Movies and television shows are more accessable and prevalent than ever, making the behavior on them seem to be more of the social norm.
