Picture this: you're at the movies. You got there early and were the first one in so you could get the best seat in the house. You've got your drink, your snack, your coat's all set up perfectly on the chair, and you're just waiting for the movie to start.
Somebody comes up to you and says, "Hi, can you move down so me and my friends can sit here?" If you sigh to yourself and schlep your stuff into another seat, just to be "nice," congratulations. You're a "people pleaser," always ready to let others take advantage of you. You're also probably not getting what you want out of life. It's time to shift the focus from others to yourself more often, and stop being a martyr to niceness
