How to Write an Article in Less Than One Hour – 10 Useful Tips

How to Write an Article in Less Than One Hour – 10 Useful Tips | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

First of all, writing quickly doesn’t mean writing with poor quality.

If you have something important to say, your article may be quick, without wordiness. One hour is a short period of time, but within it you can prepare a great article of about 500 words. In that time, you can discuss about three to five major points. So, if you plan to write a longer, higher quality article, you will (probably) need more time for it.

The second point here is that, if you need to interlink between your posts, finding related posts and proper anchors will also take time.

You will also want to find proper pictures, videos or other multimedia for your article and that can be timeconsuming.

So, let’s go to our tips:

Well-researched celebration of modern communication - Smarter Than You Think | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

It’s undeniable: technology is changing the way we think. But is it for the better?

Amid a chorus of doomsayers, Clive Thompson votes “yes”. The Internet age, he argues, has produced bold new forms of human cognition, worthy of both celebration and investigation.

How will our social “sixth sense” change the way we learn? Which tools are boosting our intelligence—and which ones are hindering our progress?

Influential people who found success despite their early failures.

It’s a well-known fact that Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. Later, he turned out to be the greatest basketball player. Have you heard this quote before?

LDL Cholesterol Needed to Gain More Muscle Mass

LDL Cholesterol Needed to Gain More Muscle Mass | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

People often say, ‘I want to get rid of all my LDL cholesterol,’ but the fact is, if you did so, you would die. Everyone needs a certain amount of both LDL and HDL in their bodies.

Low-density lipoprotein, usually referred to as LDL cholesterol, the so called “bad cholesterol”, might not be so bad after all, in particular with individuals who exercise.

Ivo Nový's insight:

Our tissues need cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol delivers it. HDL, the good cholesterol, cleans up after the repair is done. And the more LDL cholesterol you have in your blood, the better you are able to build muscle during resistance training.

Change the World by Changing Yourself First

Change the World by Changing Yourself First | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it
People won't change until they're truly ready. Instead, the best I can do is serve as an example, to do it myself, so that I inspire others to do the same.
Ivo Nový's insight:

We spend a lot of time focusing on other people’s faults. “I wish she wasn’t so negative,” “I wish he wouldn’t eat meat,” “I wish my boss would get off my back.” Sometimes we try to force these people to change. We’ll inundate them with positive affirmations, or animal cruelty brochures, or employee productivity data, when the truth is that no matter how hard you try, you cannot change other people.

Instead, follow Gandhi's advice:

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Are we getting smarter? Why our IQ levels are higher than our grandparents?

Are we getting smarter? Why our IQ levels are higher than our grandparents? | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

It's called the "Flynn effect" -- the fact that each generation scores higher on an IQ test than the generation before it. Are we actually getting smarter, or just thinking differently? In this fast-paced spin through the cognitive history of the 20th century, moral philosopher James Flynn suggests that changes in the way we think have had surprising (and not always positive) consequences.

6 Ways To Make Sure Fear Isn't Making Your Choices For You

6 Ways To Make Sure Fear Isn't Making Your Choices For You | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

Fear is a human emotion that comes pre-downloaded with our software. We are all afraid. Fear makes many seemingly innocuous decisions for us, as humans.

The tricky thing about fear is that it can be so elusive that we don’t even perceive it as such. All too often, fear disguises itself as pragmatism.

So, how do we know what’s what? Are we saying “no” because we want to, or is fear working us like a sock puppet?

What Is Cancer? What Causes Cancer?

What Is Cancer? What Causes Cancer? | Interesting Reading | Scoop.it

Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.

Cancer harms the body when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps or masses of tissue called tumors (except in the case of leukemia where cancer prohibits normal blood function by abnormal cell division in the blood stream).
