Surprise!  We are not all the same.  Deep down we know this even though we are costantly bombarded with messages that we should all be learning the same thing at the same pace and at the same depth.  Perhaps, this will increase an understanding that students who excell in math should be given the opportunity to pursue it, instead of being required to wait for those around them to be ready. 

The very good news was that ALL of the students did improve during the course of the 8 weeks of tutoring - it is the degree of improvement as a result of their natural ability that was different.
