This meets my criteria for a near-perfect educational app. Can be used from K-7 across multiple learning areas. Not free but, if you can only afford to buy one app for your school's iPads, this should probably be it.

I've used instaGrok and the original Grokker program about a decade ago. It is very helpful to have a tool like this to help students through the research process. The fact that they can customize the level of difficulty is a real plus.
