HyperSoap is a short soap opera program in which a viewer can "click" with an enhanced remote control on clothing, furniture, and other items to see information about how they can be purchased. It is an example of hyperlinked video, or video in which specific objects are made selectable by some form of user interface, and the user's interactions with these objects modify the presentation of the video. 
TV apps (also called "widgets") are applications that are embedded inside a TV, a Blu-ray player or a media player. Each TV app provides a single-screen user interface to an Internet service such as video-on-demand from Netflix or Internet radio from Pandora. 
You would place the clear piece of plastic that came in the kit over the television screen and connect the dots to create a bridge for Winky Dink to cross to safety, then trace letters at the bottom of the screen to read the secret messages broadcast at the end of the show. Which I guess makes Winky-Dink the world's first interactive video game. Another clip from the show, this time taking a look at Ceefax and the Telesoftware service. I am thrilled and a little bit touched to find that BBC2 late at night still does this...
