eduCanon - a flipping empowering tool

eduCanon - a flipping empowering tool | Interactive Teaching and Learning |
eduCanon's introduction video, showing how to more effectively flip your classroom with eduCanon videos.
Anne Whaits's insight:

The eduCanon platform is a tool for teachers to build lessons with interactive timed questions and engaging video content. Empowering teachers and great for flipped and blended learning environments.

If kids had the choice of selecting their own method of constructing lesson.

I tried it out. It has some good applications, but I couldn't get the embed code to work in our Sakai LMS. It also froze up when I used a YouTube video - so that limits its usefulness. Check it out and see if you have better results.

Flipped Classroom - Full Picture - 2013

Presentation slides for virtual presentations about the flipped classroom-the full picture
Anne Whaits's insight:

Dr Jackie Gerstein shares a great presentation on The Flipped Classroom currently featured on SlideShare. A great presentation which reinforces the experential cycle of learning on which the "flip" is based. Strong case for shifting from old model of teaching to new model of learning in an age of information abundance. Read more on Jackie's website here:

Not a fan based on my children's experience with the whole thing. It does not work the way it states. The classroom becomes a time of reteaching what was supposedly learned from the video the night before. The flipped classroom needs an incredible amount of training with highly skilled, and motivated teachers. I am not a fan.

Am always interested in the student (and parent) voice! Thank you for that insight D Cashmore. I tend to agree with your view on the skill needed to implement an experiential cycle of learning that is effective for the students' learning.
