A federal court in Los Angeles, CA blocked release of the film "Age of the Hobbits" in light of the pending US debut of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."

Yesterday a court found that the title of "Age of the Hobbits," a "mockbuster" direct-to-DVD film release, was likely to be confused with trademarks associated with J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit." The court's ruling came just days before the December 16 U.S. release of the new film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."
