okay,  so I wasn't sure what to expect in an article form Google on classroom management.  However, the ideas and concepts are clear and brief, something we all need in today's environment .  Take a look.

I have not tried this product yet, but I have requested an account to try with both pre-service teachers in tech for teachers classes (summer 13) as well as with summer enrichment programs for 3-4 and 5-6 grade students.  It appears to have the potential for student creativity, knowledge demonstration, and engagement of peers as they express content  knowledge in computer programming.

ThingLink fosters analysis and synthesis skills as it allows students to consider what is the message they wish to communicate both visually as well as with a research base, e.g. how does mountain erode becomes clear when an image is displayed connected to the research via ThinkLink.  Many topics may be displayed using this tool.

Any time I see a less complex description of a technology, I am there!  Do you feel overwhelmed with the choices and wonder how to get a handle on what you need?  Here's a guide that is advertised as SIMPLIFIED.

Evernote is one of the most versatile tools around for organizing learning. This guide goes through the basics.

so, if there's no time now (end of the year), although this might be the best time to try something new,  promist to review these creative teaching/learning tools over the summer.  Start a group and work together, these would make interesting, engaging and valuable tools for next year's toolbelt. 

I once was flattered with by a comment from our special education coordinator.  I was fortunate to teach in a private school environment which fostered the use of multiple computers (1:2) in my classroom. The SE coordinator commented that, "What the computers allowed for was an even field, students were not inimdated to reflect and rework previously constructed papers and problem solving strategies because they did not have to completely start over again, from scratch!"  In the daily continuum of classroom learning I did not see it happening, but it was true that what was happening was that due to the use of technology student outcomes were inproved.  If you have not considered the assistive nature of technology tools, here is a place to start.

We have had some very successful student presentations using this technology, as well as extranormal avatar.  It really allows the students to get outside themselves and develop scripting, re-scripting, and intentionally decide how they wish their message to be portrayed.

Here's an interesting way to infuse technology immediately in your classroom (first week, first day) Icebreakers not only allow for technology skill development, but also a way to get to know the interests of your students.  I wil be trying one or more of these in summer enrichment.  How about you?
