Hands down, LinkedIn is the best social network for B2B marketing. LinkedIn is the only real B2B social network that was developed purely to develop direct B2B sales relationships for B2B marketers.

 

The other social networks – Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube – all should be in the toolbox of any serious B2B marketer. But if you're on limited time and resources and looking to greatly increase your bottom line, you should invest wholly in LinkedIn.

Great article. With 97% of the US population having a cell phone within arms length 24 hrs a day, and over 50% of search with local intent taking place on mobile device, the convergence of search, mobile & now social is undeniable. As the post indicates, if you're not in the top 5 positions in Google you (pretty much) don't exist. Great read!

John Lincoln does a fantastic job compiling a list of the top SEO, Social Media and Analytic tools we have seen in a while.  Here are a list of some of the 80 that we use and can endorse:


SEO Tools:


1)  BuzzSumo - This tool is on everyone's list to find out what content is hot in your industry.  


2)  SEMrush - Use this tool to research your competitors and see what keywords and links they are ranking for.


3)  SerpBook - Great took for tracking your keywords on a daily basis


Social Media Tools:


1)  Pin Alerts - Simple tracking tool to see how many Pins you have received on your website (Free)


2)  Hootsuite - This is a common social media posting tool, but it also is good for analytics on your accounts.


3)  Tailwind -  This is a great tool for scheduling your Pinterest posts.  If you aren't using Pinterest you need to be for SEO and traffic.


There were many other tools that are great in the article.  Pick a couple to try out and see which ones you will ACTUALLY use.

Google now delivers Universal Search results—those that include a blend of links, videos, images, news, shopping listings, and map data—for 81% of all US searches, according to a recent report from Searchmetrics.

 

The analysis was based on data from millions of keyword searches conducted on Google.com in the United States between January and December 2013. The number of results that include Universal Search integrations has steadily increased over time and is up six percentage points from 2012, it found.
