Sang il Cho's insight:

"Gangnam Style" is a song which was very popular in a certain time. It had lost its popularity now, but it was second ranked in the Billboard chart for 7weeks. As stated on the article, social media paved the way for the song's success. The first update of the Gangnam style was on one Korean singer's Twitter, and it was retweeted by many people and it reached to people in the world. Youtube has the biggest video platform and it synchronize with many kind of SNS platform such as Twitters, Facebook and so on. Also, Youtube can be accessed by any devices, so people in nowadays can watch and comment it easily. I think the main factor to be popular was sharing this interest with the people in the world. Not the musicality of Psy, but he made people in the world and became "One" with the song. People listened, sang, danced, and made lots of parodies of Gangnamstyle in Youtube. I reckon sharing is the significant and strong driving force in Integrated marketing communication in Viral marketing. Marketers are not able to exclude the social media when they conduct marketing plan, because social media has the most power of influence in modern times.
