5 Different Ways to Start Creating Apps With Students

5 Different Ways to Start Creating Apps With Students | Instructional Technology Tools | Scoop.it

Coding is in vogue again!! It's important that we get kids to code.

Carla Gordon's curator insight, April 26, 2013 2:37 AM

As an educator in the 21st century, I believe I need to know how to create my own apps. In fact, the apps that already exist like Socrative and Nearpod, which enable me to create and modify subject material, are hugely successful in class. If I, as a relatively unsavvy teacher technologically speaking, will reach the point where I can create apps, then I think technology will have done the teaching profession it's most important favour.

Patrick Quest's curator insight, October 26, 2013 1:01 PM

As an entrepreneur, you must market and reach a wide range of consumer in all age ranges and interests.  Improvements in technology have made it possible to reach a variety of people on their personal handheld devices.  Making it easy for you to get to your customers.

Thanks, Nik, and sorry if I raised unnecessary doubts about this service; I suppose we all need to boost our digital literacy, and being able to figure out if a web tool is safe is one of the key skills, isn't it? Cheers!
Nik Peachey's comment, April 29, 2013 8:10 AM
Hi Amadeu. No problem. It's always a good idea to check every source before signing up. I work very quickly and often forget so it's good to remind me. I usualy stay away from services which require me to sign in through another service, but this looks really good so I made an exception.

I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but if it lives up to the blurb it should be good. One of the features of mobile learning is the "small chunks" of learning thto users expect, so this could offer a good way to provide that.
