This course looks at how OODA loops can be applied to soccer. OODA loops is a decision/action model widely used in the military and by police and first responders. It is ideally suited for the complex, adversarial nature of soccer. Applying these basic ideas is the start of getting, and staying, ahead of your opponent. https://coursmos.com/course/ooda-loops-in-soccer?utm_source=seedcnv&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sd&utm_content=17

Why Social Relationships Matter in the Classroom

Why Social Relationships Matter in the Classroom | Insight and Understanding | Scoop.it
Dr. Louis Cozolino explains why attachment relationships are important in the classroom.
Seth Capo's insight:

In addition to applying this research to multiple educational settings--K-12 to graduate school, public to private to home school--I think it applies equally well to the work environment.  Just as a learning environment that features positive social interactions between peers and educators fosters learning, a happy workplace culture encourages greater productivity and better outcomes.  The most successful companies today place great value and emphasis on their corporate culture and make conscious decisions to create an environment to attract and retain the best candidates.

Family and Relationships: Attachment: Battleground in the Parenting Wars?

Family and Relationships: Attachment: Battleground in the Parenting Wars? | Insight and Understanding | Scoop.it
It may be the latest buzzword in parenting circles, but the concepts underlying “attachment parenting” aren’t clearly understood by most people.
Seth Capo's insight:

"What kind of mom or dad do you see yourself as? (After all, fathers parent too.) Insist on virtuoso progeny if you must, but whatever you do, don’t neglect the important work of attuning, responding and connecting to your children. Smile, frown and laugh with them, hug them when they cry. Empathize with them, love them and guide them. Emotional distance is not the pathway to independence and self-sufficiency. Rather, children need a secure emotional base from which to explore and master their world. Creating this base is the fundamental point of any effective parenting style."

Seth Capo's insight:
Bottom line: it's very difficult, if not impossible, to have a productive discussion about much of anything without a mind that is willing to consider that opposing opinions might also be well-thought out. You don't have to agree or even concede a whole lot of ground in the end, but you at least need to acknowledge that other ideas cannot simply be reduced to sound bites . . .
