Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, talks about his company, Pixar, in 1996 Interview with Charlie Rose and John Lasseter | PBS | Inside Voiceover—Cutting-edge Insights + Enlightening, Entertaining News for Voiceover Professionals | Scoop.it

It's fascinating to rewatch this interview 15 years later, knowing what we know now...As brilliant a marketer as Steve Jobs was innately, can't help but think that the "brainwashing" he got at Pixar deeply affected the way he looked at things, and he then carried those lessons with him when he returned to Apple with heightened and more focused storytelling abilities...

"We remember Steve Jobs who died yesterday (October 5, 2011). In this clip from 1996 Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, talks about his company, Pixar, which creates animated characters and movies with computer software, and John Lasseter, the director of the Pixar film, "Toy Story", which follows toys that come to life."

"I love to see interviews where Steve Jobs talks about the Pixar adventure. Another innovative company.
Stories, stories and stories drive us..."

Even Warren Buffett Is Getting Into the Voiceover Act Now...No...Seriously... | MediaPost Publications | Inside Voiceover—Cutting-edge Insights + Enlightening, Entertaining News for Voiceover Professionals | Scoop.it
Movie stars I get; at least they're actors, but Warren Buffett..? No one can beat him at investing; and children (and their parents) could stand to be better educated about money, that's for sure, but as far as keeping kids engaged and entertained for 22 minutes? THAT is a whole different ball game...sigh...

Media Post: "The Hub, the fledgling kids/family network from Discovery and Hasbro, will debut a limited series featuring an animated Warren Buffett, who also provides the voiceover... As to Buffett's compensation, a Hub representative said that is a matter between Buffett and the production company..."

Schwarzenegger Saves San Francisco From Rampaging Robots: ‘The Governator’ Trailer Has Landed...With Larry King? | Hollywood Hiccups

Schwarzenegger Saves San Francisco From Rampaging Robots: ‘The Governator’ Trailer Has Landed...With Larry King? | Hollywood Hiccups | Inside Voiceover—Cutting-edge Insights + Enlightening, Entertaining News for Voiceover Professionals | Scoop.it
AH-nult saves SF from robots, but as usual, is out-acted by the robots. Guest voiceover cameo by Larry King (also out-emoted by the robots).

Gotta say I'm kind of missing the old days when people who retired took up golf instead of voice acting in animated series...

Hollywood Hiccup: "Arnold Schwarzenegger who is making his Hollywood comeback post California Governor gig and Stan Lee have announced that The Governator is for an animated series and a comic book and NOW it’s being eyed for a 3D feature film. Now that’s a comeback!"

Pixar Announces Voice Cast and Previews Concept Art for 2012 release, "Brave" EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS | EW.com

Pixar Announces Voice Cast and Previews Concept Art for 2012 release, "Brave" EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS | EW.com | Inside Voiceover—Cutting-edge Insights + Enlightening, Entertaining News for Voiceover Professionals | Scoop.it
Pixar announced the cast and released concept art for its 2012 summer movie, "Brave" earlier today. As long-rumored, "Brave" will be Pixar's first film with a female lead (finally). A fine, fine cast once again. (Interestingly, original lead, Reese Witherspoon bowed out, and was replaced by an authentic Scottish actor, Kelly Macdonald.)
BTW, I'd heard of several Craig Ferguson "sightings" around San Francisco over the last year...now we know the reason why...

Entertainment Weekly: "Pixar announces cast and concept art for Pixar’s summer 2012 movie Brave. The film...is set to mark big changes for Pixar, as it is both their first traditional fairytale and their first motion picture featuring a female lead.

Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane)."

A visit with legendary voice actor, Daws Butler | Video

A visit with legendary voice actor, Daws Butler | Video | Inside Voiceover—Cutting-edge Insights + Enlightening, Entertaining News for Voiceover Professionals | Scoop.it
In this 1986 video---very quaint by 2011 standards---Daws Butler gives a 'tour' of the backyard workshop/studio where he taught voiceover classes and produced demos for students. It's hard to reconcile this elderly, soft-spoken gentleman with all the big, boisterous, energetic characters that he voiced for Hanna Barbera, but you can catch glimpses of his genius as he discusses and demonstrates some of his creative teaching methods.

From Bob Souer's Voiceover Boblog: "April 3, 1986 is the date of this video visit with Daws Butler. My thanks to my friend Mike Sommer for posting the link to this ..."
