No, a Product Owner doesn’t need programming skill | Innovatus | Scoop.it
Pintolaranja's insight:

"I expect a product owner to have the information and authority to decide which features to build next and what it means to use those features. This means that this person should either know those things or be able to figure them out, and feel comfortable taking the responsibility to do that. "

Why Speed Reading Is For Fools

Why Speed Reading Is For Fools | Innovatus | Scoop.it
'There are two motives for reading a book; one, that you enjoy it; the other, that you can boast about it." - Bertrand Russell Life is not a race. Speed is good for things you want to get past, not...
Pintolaranja's insight:

When I heard about speed reading I gave it a try.

I felt ridiculous. Because I am an avid reader and I like to savour it as much as possible.

The thing was, I had (and still have) a pile of professional topic related books I want to read and I thought that if speed reading may help me go through them and capture what I need at a faster pace, maybe it is worth a try.

Well, it is not. Because even though these books are related with my work, they are still about something I like very much and therefore it actually gets me sad (not to say depressed) and VERY stressed, to run like hell just to stuff information in my mind.

I quit speed reading.

Instead, I set a goal of just prioritizing what do I want to read first (work wise) and to not read more than 1 book at a time. Right now I am reading something that is entertainment related, just for pure fun, but when I finish I will take one from the professional stack. Plus, I want to write blog posts about the stuff I read. So the plan also goes through taking sketchnotes about the reading I do. Which in the end means a lot more time spent going through useful data.

But I am sure I will have more fun, learn more and still be able to cover all the topics I need.
