Why Most Product Roadmaps are a Train-wreck (and how to fix this)

Why Most Product Roadmaps are a Train-wreck (and how to fix this) | Innovatus | Scoop.it

Micromanaging Angst

Micromanaging Angst | Innovatus | Scoop.it

I don't thing there is good micromanagement. For me, micromanagement is bad. Period. For the very simple reason that it steps on anyone's ability to create or come up with improvement.

Neither would I consider relating micromanagement with agile practices.

What I do like about this article is part of the aproach taken on the analysis of Steve Jobs' behavior as a manager.

Focus on the product. That, my friends, along with the concern for having such a product being great and creating wow effect on the end customers means there are goals, there is a vision, there is a direction and a path in which to walk, on which one can do their best and improve and innovate.

You don't innovate just because. You do need guidance and objectives. And you also need to still keep delivering value to customers.

Estimates and Commitments – The Hard Truth Line by Line | Innovatus | Scoop.it

Here's a perspective I guess I never gave much thought to.

We all complain about how software is developed by humans and for humans, but I guess it is true we keep forgetting that also the evil product owners / managers are treated like machines. And they keep being demanded to make stuff work by the milimeter, when in fact, they are also dealing with humans and are actually humans themselves in the midst of whatever software development process and bound by whatever principles and practices.

Think about it for a minute.

Change needs to happen at several levels in an organization in order to become truly agile and lean.

Why Product Positioning is Useless

Why Product Positioning is Useless | Innovatus | Scoop.it
Yes.  It's mostly useless.  A waste of time.  Simply because it's so very rarely done well at all.

Surprisingly, few people understand the basic concept of product postioning.&nbs...
