Are geniuses really geniuses?

An interesting discussion coming from a kid who supposedly was autistic since the age of 3 :)

 

What Jacob states is that maybe they did have high IQs, but more than that, they got or created the chance to stop conventional learning and get the time to think on what really interested them.

Some of these people create great things, others don't, but another interesting perspective of Jacob's is that they at the very least pursued their passion and therefore were happy while doing it.

» What I’ve Learned About Learning :zenhabits

A couple of important things to retain here:

   .: You learn because you find the subject interesting

   .: You learn because you do something with the information you got, you put it to action

 

It shouldn't come as something new to anyone that regardless of how much stuff they tell us to read and even memorize at school, we only and truly learn about the things we enjoy. And that is because we are willing to try them out, fail, try again until we achieve results which we consider to be satisfactory.

And the things we learn the most about are the ones we feel passionate about.

 

Has school become useless? I don't think so, at least it allows us to find out what is it that we have interest on.

And if we don't like any of the subjects taught at school... where, there are plenty of others out there for us to discover and pursue.
