Conflict Strategies for Nice People

Conflict Strategies for Nice People | Innovatus | Scoop.it
Conflict is a necessary part of a functioning team. But it doesn't need to be mean.
Pintolaranja's insight:

I've seen it happen. Heck, I have done it myself!

In case you get tired of always having to fight for some of your opinions to be considered, take a break. But then do come back. Taking a break is ok, everyone needs to breathe more deeply even if just for a few moments, get their thoughts back into place. It might even help finding new ways of explaining what you think to others.

Just don't quit.

And don't come and say "I don't care anymore, I just want to get my work done". You are misleading yourself and throwing sand at the eyes of those who do reckon you have something to say but are holding it back. By doing that you are taking your own share of building mistrust and overall lack of self confidence.

Constructive conflict happens when the focus is on the solution rather than one's self. I admire people who can do this. And I thrive to make it happen like this wherever I go and to learn to get better at it.
