How to: Inquiry-Based Learning | YouthLearn

How to: Inquiry-Based Learning | YouthLearn | Innovative Education | Scoop.it

"Inquiry-based learning is founded on students taking the lead in their own learning, but it still requires considerable planning on your part [as teacher, guide, learning architect]. Projects must fit into your larger program structure, goals and plans, but the students will be actively involved in planning the projects with you and asking the questions that launch their individual inquiries."

Free Tools to Go Paperless for Teachers

Free Tools to Go Paperless for Teachers | Innovative Education | Scoop.it

Have you ever thought of going to school paperless ? Well if you have not, then you need to consider it. I know people still have that standard image of the teacher in that white apron with a desk full of papers and binders. We do not need to have all that load of papers around us to be effective, technology has several easy ways to facilitate your life and make it way easier and more enjoyable. Let me share with you here an example that I personally experienced. Some years ago I used to have problems in the aeroports because of the weight of my luggage. Every year that I go back home to see my parents I would pay for extra weight because my suitcase would be full of books. I hated it because some of the books I could not do without them and so could not leave them behind especially when I would be away for longer periods of time. Now thanks to mobile technology, my Kindle has loads of books that I take wherever I go without worrying about weight issues.

Par Jacques Rodet | Innovative Education | Scoop.it

Jean-Jacques Quintin's comment, October 18, 2012 5:39 AM
Jacques Rodet's comment, October 18, 2012 12:55 PM
Bonjour Jean-Jacques,

Some 75% of 12-17 year-olds now own cell phones.

When Educators Become Curators

When Educators Become Curators | Innovative Education | Scoop.it

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of being the virtual keynote speaker at the Croation MoodleMoot. Thanks to Sandra Kucina and Jasmin Klindžić for inviting me, and making everything happen so smoothly.

We agreed that, in line with my PhD topic, I would focus not on Moodle, but on the new digital curation skills being required of all teachers. So it began as an introduction to digital curation and then looked at how educators can curate inside or outside of an LMS. Thanks to those Croatian Moodlers in the Twitter stream for engaging with me afterwards. More feedback is welcome. I look forward to developing my ideas further…

Educational Technology and Mobile Learning: Top 11 Educational Video Websites for Teachers

Educational Technology and Mobile Learning: Top 11 Educational Video Websites for Teachers | Innovative Education | Scoop.it

The use of multimedia in the classroom is a great way of getting students engaged. One of the biggest challenges we all face today is how to hold students attention for a longer time. It seems like multitasking has taken every bit of attention from our students. No wonder,  the visual stimulus they are exposed to is huge : Tv, video gaming, social networking, texting, emailing, are but the emerging tip of the iceber and unless we seriously address this phenomenon  it will definitely grow out of control.

Internet fait place nette dans la pédagogie

J'aime bien cette approche !
