"When I first read this Techsploration I was not very excited to get started. I had spent only a limited time exploring twitter and most of my interaction with it was through new stories where celebrities, athletes, and politicians tweeted about their lives, careers, or opinions – sometimes getting them into big trouble. I assumed that is all Twitter was, a place collecting the worst that American pop culture had to offer. I also disliked the 140 character rule and felt that it further perpetuated a reliance on sound bite news that largely sidestepped any real dialogue about current events.
