Neuroscience & the Classroom: Making Connections

Neuroscience & the Classroom: Making Connections | News and Resources of Innovative EDU | Scoop.it

"Insights drawn from neuroscience not only provide educators with a scientific basis for understanding some of the best practices in teaching, but also offer a new lens through which to look at the problems teachers grapple with every day. By gaining insights into how the brain works—and how students actually learn—teachers will be able to create their own solutions to the classroom challenges they face and improve their practice." This is a course for K-12 educators.

Learn It In 5 - Todays Meet

Learn It In 5 - Todays Meet | News and Resources of Innovative EDU | Scoop.it

Todays Meet is a great way to have an online discussion.  A backchannel (a way for people to talk online during a live presentation or discussion) like Twitter, Today's Meet differs from Twitter in that each "meeting" is its own "room."  So you can post the link to the Today's meet session, and set the time for how long you want the "room" to be open (in the video, he chooses 2 hours) and then you're ready to go.

In a collaboration setting, you could conduct faculty meetings and lead a discussion, with a "room" open on your computer or the screen behind you where other teachers could post questions or comments, which you could then address in order, making sure everyone's concerns are addressed.
