This is a nice summary of quick-hits from the CUE conference. Things I like in this article:

-- The Chrome extensions, including ChromeSpeak (have your browser read you text out loud)

-- A BYOD (bring your own device) acceptable use policy. My school is dipping its toes in the BYOD waters.

15 iPad Apps to Enhance Students Creativity ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

15 iPad Apps to Enhance Students Creativity ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Innovation in Education | Scoop.it

"I am revisiting this topic of enhancing students creativity using iPad apps for the second time this year. Almost 10 months ago I featured here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a selection of some great apps http://bit.ly/185Tusc that can be used in class to boost students creative thinking; and today and after having reviewed hundred of new educational apps since that post, I decided to compile an updated version of that list and include some newly featured apps in the category of creativity.

Of course by creativity I mean giving students the chance to take their learning to the next step, one in which they are active producers and participators in knowledge building. Creativity is all about creation and iPad is an ideal device to support this creative thinking. Check out the apps I have handpicked for you today and share with us if you have other suggestions :"

3 Excellent iPad Workflow Sheets for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

3 Excellent iPad Workflow Sheets for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Innovation in Education | Scoop.it

"Here is a set of some wonderful workflows sheets Greg Swanson has recently created from conversations with  with Yr 4, 5 and 6 kids. These sheets document how students perform learning tasks using their iPads. The good thing about these materials is that they encourage students self reflect on both the process of how they learn and what they learn. Generously enough, Greg has provided these worksheets free for us to download and use with our students and here is what he said about them :"

This is How to Search Flickr for Free Images to Use with Students in Class ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Innovation in Education | Scoop.it

"Flickr is a great image hosting website that you can use to store and share your images. Flickr is also a powerful image search engine where you can find images others have posted. As a teacher, you can probably use this platform with your students to look for pictures to include in classroom projects. However, not all pictures are free to use and as we have mentioned in our Copyright Section here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning, there are certain conditions under which you are allowed to re-use people's images but only for non commercial purposes, these conditions are mostly included under a Creative Commons License."
