6 Sign Learning Theory Elements To Include In eLearning Course Design

From elearningindustry.com

Wondering how to apply the Sign Learning Theory In eLearning? Read this article to discover its Principles, Components And Types.
Danielarv's curator insight, September 2, 3:46 PM
According to the sign learning theory an individual learns by following signs that lead to specific goals. For example, they will learn about a new concept if they actively participate in eLearning courses and develop effective study habits. The Sign Learning theory provides us with 6 forms of learning that individuals may use to achieve their goals and deepen their understanding of the subject matter.

Cathexis: research the audience in order to identify their drives and key motivators.

Field Expectancies: provided real world examples.

Equivalence Beliefs: to have cleared the objectives of the course in order you can motivate the learners to achieve these.

Field Cognition Modes: Challenge their assumptions by asking questions and encouraging them to work in groups.

Motor Patterns: promoted the interaction through of tactile Learning activities.

Drive Discrimination: branching scenarios are a great way to cultivate drive discrimination abilities in eLearning, as online learners must choose the path that leads them to the desired outcome using their analytic skills.

Performance goals are an essential part of a successful eLearning strategy.
