In response to growing demand for ebook content, Springer has begun offering small colleges complete collections of its ebook titles by copyright year.

Pricing is based on the size of the institution, and the ebooks are sold DRM-free, under a perpetual-license model that allows unlimited simultaneous use, representatives from the publisher told LJ."
This is a very important piece of news for the e-book lending. Hopefully this will become the rule for all publishers.

Δε συνηθίζω να αναδημοσιεύω θέματα που δε σχετίζονται με τον χώρο των βιβλιοθηκών ή της πληροφόρησης. Το δεύτερο σαφώς το αγγίζει το κλείσιμο της ΕΡΤ. Το βασικότερο που θίγεται όμως, είναι η τόσο βασανισμένη δημοκρατία. Όχι βιβλιοθηκάριε, δε θα τους αφήσουμε να την κλείσουν. Δε θα τους αφήσουμε να μας επιβάλλουν συλλογική απώλεια μνήμης, να ξεχάσουμε την ιστορία του τόπου μας, να ξεγράψουμε τον πολιτισμό μας και να στήσουμε τις ελευθερίες και τα συνταγματικά μας δικαιώματα στο απόσπασμα. Θα μπορούσα να γράφω ώρες αλλά καλό είναι το σχόλιο να μην είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερο από την αρχική ανάρτηση.
