A New Fantastic Bloom's Taxonomy Wheel for iPad Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

A New Fantastic Bloom's Taxonomy Wheel for iPad Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Information Powerhouses | Scoop.it

"Today while I was browsing through my Twitter feeds I came across this fabulous Bloom's Taxonomy wheel of apps shared by Anthony. If you still recall, some previous versions of this wheel have already been featured here in Bloom's Taxonomy for Teachers section .

As you can see, the wheel outlines a wide variety of verbs and activities related to each thinking level of Blooms taxonomy coupled with iPad apps that go with it. These apps are supposed to help teachers and students better cultivate these different thinking levels in their use of iPad apps. And because the the visual is not hyperlinked, I went ahead and provided the links for each of these apps in the lists below. Enjoy"

Dr. Laura Sheneman's insight:

Check the apps you use against this taxonomy.  What level do you personally spend a lot of your time at?  What level can you push your students to try?

This could be useful resource to connect the old Bloom's taxonomy to new resources out there on the iPad. And a nice visual to boot.

Future of Learning and Technology 2020: Preparing for change

The education landscape of 2020 will be characterized by the blurring of boundaries. Learning anywhere and anytime will be commonplace in many different ways based on the ubiquitous and innovative use of technology. Our organizations face a duality of change—conceptual and technological—regarding the practices of education and learning. The practices of teaching, presenting and learning will undergo fundamental change as it responds to global, social, political, technological and of course, learning research trends. Will your organization be ready and prepared to take advantage of these seismic changes to education, learning and technology?

#twitterchat: Why Teachers Like Learning Models

#twitterchat: Why Teachers Like Learning Models | Information Powerhouses | Scoop.it

"

"Recently, #cohort21 hosted a twitter chat on a topic near and dear to our hearts: learning models and frameworks.

We have our own ideas about what they’re so important, but this isn’t about us, is it?

This being 2014, the #twitterchat conversation, of course, quickly turned to SAMR and TPACK, and educators shared their favorite versions, how they used them, and what future needs in the space might be. Archived twitter chats make for wonderful quick reads, and can include some gems (the Starbucks analogy, for example), so, here you go. #twitterchat: Why Teachers Like Learning Models, all in one place."

I haven't done one of these. I'm probably like the last one!

But I'm intrigued after I helped fund Jennifer LaGarde's 3D printer last summer!

I used to have 18 Apple computers in my school library - Like almost an Apple history! In 1997 we had PowerMacs 5200's, then blueberry iMacs, then eMacs - now I only have 4 left....and they're my PACs!

I really would like at least 4 iMac desktops to do iMovie editing, video production, and graphic design. I know that's not considered cool anymore w/ the Makey Makey movement but dag, it's what I want.

I asked my Supervisor last week if I had any chance in the future to get 4 desktops and she was like ....nope. [sad face]

What do you think? It's too much $$ for donor's choose, right?
