Never understood why school furniture had to be uncomfortable and ugly. What signal does that send? Simple changes can bring big rewards sometimes!

I have not had desks in classrooms for 15 years. Students collaborated and shared in their learning at tables.

One of the most powerful classes I ever took was in a room with no desks and the professors sat among us throughout the learning process. I don't know why we are still clinging to the "factory model" of instructional delivery...
