From the article: The 21st Century workforce will be filled with people who have grown up with devices, and are used to having easy access to search engines, sharing and collaboration are the norm, and creative freedom is king. Shouldn’t our classrooms represent a version of this too? Absolutely! What's the hold-up? IMHO it isn't just funding. There's a fundamental disconnect between the generation teaching and the generation being taught - how do we narrow the gap?
Sandra Carswell's comment,

We narrow the gap by bringing the teachers up to speed. How? By providing a device and training and requiring them to participate. After all, to continue to be a great teacher, you must continue to be a learner, it goes hand-in-hand.

Agreed. Becoming a teacher does NOT mean abdicating the responsibility to continue to be a learner - sometimes from our own students!

As a hyperlink embedder, this is a timely post for introspection! Everyone should stop, read, and contemplate whether they are remaining true to the source. I'd like to think I have been, but it's time to reflect and inspect!

As a hyperlink embedder, I would like to think I have remained true to the source author, but this post is a great timely piece to insure we contemplate, and reflect on how we are attributing the work of others. In our hurried-fast-pace-production world, we need to slow down and insure that we are practicing what we preach. Delete the scoop?
