Excellent feedback! - I have contacted the developer via Twitter to get a confirmation on this, but your response is already very clear. Thank you MioBook for your useful contribution.

LLatipi's insight:

From the article...

Why do you do what you do? Have you thought about that recently? Whether you are an entrepreneur, an employee, or even a charity worker, it’s important to regularly asses what motivates you in business. It’s not only important for you and your company. It’s important for your customers. Because as Simon Sinek says: People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.

Robin Good's curator insight, June 17, 2013 3:56 PM

My personal belief is this: in the near future, if you want to stand out in your niche, get a serious following of passionate fans and build a strong credibility for yourself, you will need to do something better than just writing blog posts (however good they may be).

"Recently Martin Laetsch, Act-On’s Director of Online Marketing, presented a webinar covering the 10 most important rules for successful search engine optimization. Not all of them are 100% new, but they’re all critical keys to success. ...You can catch up with the whole on-demand session here."

In this article the focus is specifically on rule n.1: Create content with your audience in mind.

Rekha Mohan writes: "The main point to all this is: create content people want to share. People like sharing interesting information; it builds credibility, creating the image that the sharer is in the know, and consistently sharing good information increases your audience.

Good information also helps visitors and increases your authority on a subject – use white papers, case studies, fun facts, educational material, research results, thought-provoking blog posts, how-to articles, top 10 lists, and more to share your information in innovative and easy-to-read ways."

Very good reminders for anyone having doubts about what's best to do in the near future, to gain extra visibility and reputation, on any content web site.

Rightful. 7/10

Paola Caballer's curator insight, June 17, 2013 5:41 PM

Podio offers modular collaborative workspaces that can be customized to your specific needs by adding adn integrating your preferred collaboration apps, available in its dedicated app library.

The latest app addition is a free video and audio app which allows you to videoconference in real-time with any other Podio user (1-to-1).

From SmallBizTrends: "If you’re still searching for the right video conferencing service to interact with your business partners, your customers, and your suppliers, Podio has added a new Podio video conference feature you may want to consider.

Audio and video service was launched this week for Podio at no extra cost for users of the collaboration software whether you have a free or premium account. Anders Pollas, co-founder and product manager at Podio, introduced the new service recently on the official Podio blog.

There are at least 200,000 Podio clients already using the business collaboration platform. With the new video chat app, users will be able to interact with each other using video and audio. But that’s not all.

The workplace management and social site also recently added instant text messaging to go alongside its suite of other business apps already geared for group input and interaction."

Editorialist is a "concept app" by Sara Uhelski and Alexander Norling which would allow you to easily curate and put together your own personalized magazine created by pulling together all of your favorite articles from all of the Condé Nast library of magazines.

The concept would even be more far reaching if subscribers could create curated thematic versions, the best of which could be made available to all other subscribers in a thematic directory.

Robin Good's curator insight, June 13, 2013 1:35 PM

Fotor is a great web-based image editor that is particularly talented at creating photo-montages, image strips and boards, photo cards and other similar image compositions.

The beauty of it is that Fotor connects directly to your Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Instagram photo accounts, giving you the opportunity to easily find, drag and position your ideal images on the canvas. You can also upload images from your computer and easily crop, rotate or resize it.

Fotor also allows to overlay and position any text messages on your final composition allowin you to create those effective "social flags" for your online fans.

Fotor saves in JPG or PNG format and can post or upload directly your compositions to anyone of your connected social media accounts.

My comment: Excellent image editor for creating image compositions and photo montages. Lots of features and options. Easy to use.

Free to use.

Robin Good's curator insight, June 11, 2013 3:17 AM

If you are looking for a free tool that allows you to easily create a visual portfolio of images and/or video clips, organized into categories, Dunked offers an excellent solution.

Simple, elegant and very straightforward to use, Dunked makes it easy to upload one or more pictures at a time and to arrange them on your portfolio page and into separate collections called Projects.

You can customize background, colors for all the elements on a page, fonts, logo and you can add a personalized About and Contact page.

My comments: Excellent visual portoflio tool for photographers, designers and artists of any kind. Compared to having an image or video collection on Pinterest, the difference is that the presentation style is much more elegant, and images are viewed by default at a much larger size. You also have fine control on individual text style, colors and other design elements. The absence of a bookmarklet further indicates that this tool has been designed with the photographer/artist/painter in mind and not to collect stuff found on the web.

Free to use.
