Apple: iOS, OS X and ‘key web services’ aren’t heartbleeding | Information Management, Social Media & Data Security | Scoop.it
Following the revelation that hundreds of thousands of websites are susceptible to attacks based on the “Heartbleed” flaw in OpenSSL, Apple told Re/code that its operating systems including iOS and OS X, as well as unnamed “key” web-based services are not affected by the hack. “Apple takes security very seriously. Actual victims may be out of luck. “Unless an attacker blackmails you, or publishes your information online, or steals a trade secret and uses it, you won’t know if you’ve been compromised,” Mr. Chartier said. “That’s what makes it so vicious.”
