Humans With Amplified Intelligence Could Be More Powerful Than AI_ | information analyst | Scoop.it

With much of our attention focused the rise of advanced artificial intelligence, few consider the potential for radically amplified human intelligence (IA). It’s an open question as to which will come first, but a technologically boosted brain could be just as powerful — and just as dangerous – as AI.

I have always said that most science fiction writers are prophets, ever since Leonardo DaVinci, Jules Verne, Robert Heinlien and many others stories peaked my imagination, I have realized that anything the mind of man can conceive man can acheive.  We are trully on the verge of realizing many new things that God has given us to build upon our original selves. My name is Richard Viers, and I advocate for Alternative Energy Products Group.

Henrik Safegaard - Cloneartist's curator insight, Today, 3:46 AM

So which will come first? AI or IA?

This article is Sp interesting and explain very fifferntviews of the subject -

But as Hemingway said, “An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with his fools.” What if drunkenness were not enough to instill camaraderie and mutual affection? There could be a clean “empathy break” that leads to psychopathy.

Réseaux sociaux & paramètres de confidentialité – Google+ | information analyst | Scoop.it

Semantic & Graph-Based Search: The Future Face Of Search

Semantic & Graph-Based Search: The Future Face Of Search | information analyst | Scoop.it

In a June 2010 Semantic Web Meetup in San Diego, Peter Mika of Yahoo!’s research division gave a presentation entitled, “The future face of Search is Semantic for Facebook, Google and Yahoo!” As the title suggests, the presentation focused on the ever-growing use of semantic markup as a means for helping computers parse and understand content.

The talk focused on what was then the current state of the Semantic Web, as well as upcoming formats/technologies in development and the research being done in the field of semantic search.

The idea that the Semantic Web would be central to search within just a few years was met with some skepticism at the time — back then, all most folks were tracking was the adoption of Semantic Web technologies and semantic search using primarily RDFa, embedded metadata, or semantic markup.

HTML Parser Technique for Parsing Search Engines (Google)

HTML Parser Technique for Parsing Search Engines (Google) | information analyst | Scoop.it

Set of libraries for parsing results of popular search engines; Google, Yahoo!

One of the projects I am involved in provides facility to query the Google search engine and uses the links returned by it.

We used Google's API and it was fine until some August day when it ceased working with non-English queries.

It merely returned irrelevant links. Hence I was forced to write my own Google parser.

My HTML parser is a regular parser which scans for HTML tokens - tags. It's all I need when I want to parse a regular HTML page.

But it is not enough when it comes to the parsing of a web page with results from the Google search engine, because the page contains many things that I won't need except for the actual links of the search.

I need somehow to tell the parser to find the important structures in the page. For this I define an XML file with definitions of the tags that I want to extract and all that lies in these tags.

Here is an example of the XML file for the Google web page:

I will definitely be sharing this with students and reminding myself that part of mental performance is blocking things out. I like the computer analogy. A faster processor is great. Letting an older computer focus on one important task can perform much better than the fast comptuer running 13 applications.
