Social Engagement: Is it a Real Metric? [INFOGRAPHIC] | Infographics worth keeping | Scoop.it

There had been debate whether social media and its results are measurable or not. Well, the following infographic from SocialBakers ends that debate. This is fantastic!  Reminds me of two things: the story engine in Jasper Fforde's "Thursday Next" books (particularly after the upgrade).  And a conversation or two I had in Colorado about how modern literature is a desert of stories about adultery, incest, and pedofilia.  This set doesn't map exactly to that, but then these were some of the best books written this year (apparently, *I* haven't read any of them), but there is a stong focus on the ol' standbys of Love and Death, with a smattering of interesting stuff like "Homicidal Cowboy Brothers" and "An Escaped Tiger" (does that really count as a theme? I might have to read that one).

Who Are the Top Retailers on Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC] - Mashable | Infographics worth keeping | Scoop.it
Here are the most popular retailers that are killing it on social media.

So, what does this tell us?  MLB and Victoria's Secret must know what they're doing.  This is a chart of retailers and does not include "service" industry brands so it's nigh impossible to apply it to libraries.  Unless you argue that the main product is "reading" which is a hobby. (I don't)
