Venkatesh - if I am able I give my site as much media support as I can. As a social media trainer I need to 'try out' media before I can teach others to use it and give an insight into which is useful and which is not. So I tend to put my site and what I am doing out on the various social media platforms at least twice a day - I don't over emphasise my site because that can be counter productive (people switch off if all they see from you is self-promotion) and so it is keeping your presence alive but not switching off potential clients by constant ME, ME, ME. I perform both SEO services and social media training for others (see - just a bit of self promotion LOL)

Jayne, Thanks, but to be truthful, my comment wasn't addressed at anyone specific! I was just trying to get all readers (of my comment) to reflect on the extent to which they (positively) use social media to support their site. I am very interested in feedback in this issue, because I have been dithering about launching my site for a long time now.

Google search is 'changing' but Google will GROW with video and search content is moving from written content to video advertising content from websites, blogs to every platform over this and the next century. http://www.infogurushop.com/a-z-business-video-directory-links/ the world of business, advertising and web will again transform and potentially eradicate traditional offline business practices as most of us know it as video takes center stage worldwide.

Not a surprise at all that the top 5 searched topics socially are (1) Technology / Scoial Media, (2) Fitness, Health, & Sports, (3) Music, (4) F&B, & (5) Travel... I think that this one dropped Movies / Cinema for sure

None of these take into account time zone changes. For example, I live in Australia and deal with Africa, Europe and the US. Just sayin'.

I don´t think you need a blog, I think is good to have a blog. The important thing is not the blog itself, the important thing is the message you want to give using it; the, you can give the message using the blog, but, you can give the same message directly, using social networks and plain text messages (without links). Many customers don´t want click, want the message.

A media plan is just as important as a business plan! I'm always surprised how many businesses operate without a written business plan, same for media, it makes a huge difference!

It has become clear that social media is turning into quite the process. It’s becoming more and more important, so many different tools and advice columns keep popping up to help businesses and individuals stay organized and successful when it comes to this newer marketing effort. This has caused many companies to create a full-time social media position for experts to help manage the many social accounts, follow analytics, get creative with engagement, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the payoff is only increasing as social involvement increase.

Great comment MizWalidah. I wold modify one point. Instead of "continually optimizing your meta keywords and tags" I would find ways to ping in fresh content such as User Generated Content from reviews or comments. Once a website I've SEOed is inside of Google's algorithm changing meta values that matter (mostly the page's title) can HURT SEO. I change titles VERY VERY carefully since the first rule of SEO is DO NO DAMAGE. The QDF (Quality Deserves Freshness) movement post Panda and Penguin LOVES it when a page pings, so I love the 1% of visitors who are willing to comment, review or otherwise contribute User Generated Content.
I DON'T play with meta nearly as much as you imply since to do so can look SPAMMY and cause real harm. The most important idea is creating content other people want to share. This is why I love GAMES and CONTESTS especially for bands. High engagement content such as Contests and Games can help with SEO and they can help create a distinct brand all bands need. Appreciate your enthusiasm, but be careful about meta (especially title) changes. Marty
