GF and EOS will integrate additive manufacturing machines to print metal mold inserts, including software and linkage with downstream machine tools and measuring devices. Aluminum Industry Reacts to New Heavy-Duty Truck Fuel Economy Standards Proposed by EPA

On June 19, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new regulations to cut greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty trucks, requiring that fleet fuel economy increase up to 24 percent by 2027. While these proposed rules will first enter public comment period before the final version is likely released sometime in 2016, the aluminum industry is poised to assist its transportation customer base in meeting these new standards.

Updated study: Wood plastics / Natural fibre composites

Although the US remains the largest global WPC producer, having turned out 1.1m t in 2012, the highest growth is taking place in China, where output reached 900,000 t in 2012. The total global market came to 2.5m t that year, the study found. Within Europe, Germany leads both in terms of actors as well as output, while the main end markets are construction and automotive interior.
