****This article is for all who do not know "Fortune In Lies"
Fortune in Lies is a collaboration of the finest hard rock/metal players in the southeast Wisconsin area. The band's efforts are put into making music that is commercially viable along with being able to construct music with a heavier edge. In a short period of time, Fortune in Lies has achieved significant success in local radio coverage and has had the privilege of sharing the stage with such national acts as Hoobastank, Janus, Soil and Holland. The future plans for the band are to further their local success, create international exposure through radio, internet and social media and to showcase their live performance abilities at higher level venues and festivals.
Gregg Boas - Vocals When Gregg was in kindergarten, he had to answer the infamous question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Gregg wanted to be a singer. His father had always been involved in bands and was a very big influence on Gregg. His first live performance was at Homecoming his freshman year of high school. Over the years, he has been a part of a dozen different bands but none of them worked together as well as the members of Fortune In Lies do. Gregg's musical influence ranges from the Beatles to Slipknot and everything in between. He is truly a lover of music.
Jeff Miller - Guitar and Vocals Jeff remembers music becoming a part of his life when he was in grade school. This love of music continued to grow and by the time Jeff reached high school, he knew he wanted to play guitar. The dream was put on hold for a while and when he turned 18, he finally purchased his first guitar. He devoted all of his spare time to teaching himself to play and joined his first band within a year. Jeff loves being part of Fortune In Lies. Being able to express himself through the original music they write makes it worth all the work.
Sharon Cline - Guitar and Vocals Born and raised in rural Western New York State, Sharon began playing guitar at the young age of 12. Throughout her musical career, she has shared the stage with a multitude of bands. Sharon has continued honing her skills over the years and turned her love of guitars into a custom guitar building and painting business. Sharon's influences include George Lynch, Brad Gillis and Joe Satriani, as well as many others. When it comes to Fortune In Lies, Sharon loves the diverse background of the members. Put a modern influence on metal, hair bands and punk and all those elements can be heard in their music.
Lisa Bruce - Bass Lisa got her start in music at a very young age. She participated in her first talent show at the age of 7 and entertained her family with holiday music on the organ. Inspired by her brother and a group of friends, Lisa purchased her first bass and taught herself to play. Her musical preferences include old school rock, classical, punk, heavy metal and death metal. Lisa has played with several bands in her lifetime, which lead her to her current place with Fortune In Lies. She loves working with such a talented group.
Eric Campbell - Drums Eric's earliest memories of music were listening to Kiss at the young age of 5. His love of music sparked a desire to play bass so he joined his school band. Unfortunately, the school band did not offer any stringed instruments so he was introduced to drums. Eric began playing at the age of 10 and has not stopped. Eric's influences include Cozy Powell, Larz Ulrich, Mike Portnoy and Joey Jordison. While Eric has played with several bands in the past, he has never felt the exhilaration that comes from playing with the other members of Fortune In Lies. According to Eric, "The members of this band play like they've been playing together forever."
