Unacceptable work at two VA facilities is an insult to the nation’s Veterans - The Buffalo News

Unacceptable work at two VA facilities is an insult to the nation’s Veterans - The Buffalo News | Veterans | Scoop.it

@RepChrisCollins - The nation’s veterans should never have to wonder whether facilities meant to serve them are clean and sanitary, or if they have an emotional crisis someone will pick up the suicide hotline. Yet, veterans are facing such obstacles. What an insult to people who put

their lives on hold to serve...

Pacific Cove's insight:

@ReChrisCollins - According to Representative Chris Collins:  Our Veterans continue to be under attack. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is failing them at every turn. I have made sure to do anything and everything I can to raise awareness about the VA's troubles and demand that action be taken. Our veterans deserve better. Here is a recent editorial from the Buffalo News detailing the VA's recent failures. #Veterans #VA #VeteranCare

Her condition had suddenly deteriorated, and new scans revealed that her tumor—a deadly type known as glioblastoma multiforme, or GBM—had returned. It had spread from the right side of her brain to the left frontal lobe, acquiring an ominous winged shape that doctors refer to as a butterfly glioma.  #BrainCancer #BrainTumor #BTSM #Caregivers #Caregiving

DebbyBruck's curator insight, September 5, 2015 12:28 AM

No human being should die in this world awaiting health care, especially veterans.  America's veterans have served our country, putting their lives, health and well being in harm's way for our protection.  Americans should not settle for less - for themselves and for the vets who have given so much for us to have the liberties we do have.  Hound your governmental agencies to do what is right for healthcare for vets and all people.  The very least we could do for them is provide the care they need to recover the parts of themselves lost in battle and defense of the American people - and provide the psychological help (if needed) to reintegrate into society with peace and dignity.  That's not really much to ask for those who sacrificed everything and who served our country.
