ANNIE, ALEX, olly, AND SHMAR's curator insight, February 6, 3:44 PM

Although this only applies to veterans who received 'other than honorable' discharges, it is very important that veterans can apply to upgrade mental disabilities (such as PTSD). "Discharge upgrades are important because they are linked to benefits available through Veterans Affairs, such as treating PTSD-related symptoms, according to information provided by the Army." Before PTSD was recognized as a debilitating medical condition, many veterans were 'dishonorably discharged' from the military.
