Unacceptable work at two VA facilities is an insult to the nation’s Veterans - The Buffalo News

Unacceptable work at two VA facilities is an insult to the nation’s Veterans - The Buffalo News | Veterans | Scoop.it

@RepChrisCollins - The nation’s veterans should never have to wonder whether facilities meant to serve them are clean and sanitary, or if they have an emotional crisis someone will pick up the suicide hotline. Yet, veterans are facing such obstacles. What an insult to people who put

their lives on hold to serve...

Pacific Cove's insight:

@ReChrisCollins - According to Representative Chris Collins:  Our Veterans continue to be under attack. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is failing them at every turn. I have made sure to do anything and everything I can to raise awareness about the VA's troubles and demand that action be taken. Our veterans deserve better. Here is a recent editorial from the Buffalo News detailing the VA's recent failures. #Veterans #VA #VeteranCare

QIU NINGYU's comment, March 8, 8:30 AM
Although it is true that the best way to empathise people is to put us into other people’s shoes and really try to think from their perspective. This will allow us to have a more comprehensive of other’s feelings. However this can be hard as we are very used to analyse other’s feeling directly be their facial expressions or body gestures. Indeed, this might be faster than the first method, but this may not be very accurate as everyone can have different views on these expressions, also analysis that is only based on these expressions can be superficial and too simplified. It may be hard for people to change their usual ways of empathising people, but this will eventually come with enough practice, all we need to do now is to start trying to empathise with people using this method, hopefully this will come to us naturally as time passes.
