Virtual reality, fact or fiction ? With the purchase of the virtual reality head set, Oculus Rift by social media leader Facebook, Both factions of gaming and virtual reality will benefit. Nowgamer.com  suggests that the future for Oculus Rift is a positive future. That not only will this device be used for gaming but also virtual simulation and that co-founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has the money and the inspiration to make this a reality. With this information, it is completely possible to imagine virtual reality and the Oculus Rift becoming one of the top five technologies in the next five to ten years.

The hopes and dreams of science-fiction fans may soon be a reality, with the news that Google has purchased an Artificial Intelligence firm. The company DeepMind sold for 400 million and was possibly the leading firm for development in AI. Being a multi billion dollar company, it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for the technology of Artificial Intelligence in the next five to ten years.

From mobile gaming apps to high definition masterpieces, gaming world wide is on the rise. The commentator, Jason Bellini  claims that more than half the U.S population plays video games, at a huge fifty-eight percent. Thats a enormous market, plus when you factor in the rest of the world, that is an incredible industry. Moreover Bellini further states that console gaming has decreased in the past years and mobile and app gaming is heading up. In turn this could possible lead to further competition between the two gaming factions and more impressive content to come.

With mobile and tablet computing on the rise, to the point were technologies such as smart phones and tablets are now competing with home computers; it is essential that brands such as Samsung keep innovating to produce next generation technologies. This source is  of Samsung testing tablets controlled by activity in the brain. It can be seen that the testing is conducted under a process of an announcer telling the tester what to think of, and in turn telling the tablet what to do. This in fact could revolutionize the user interface of tablets and mobile devices to a point where possible one day, there will be no need for touch screens at all.

With a combined investment of forty million dollars, from the personnel banks of Aston Kutcher, Mark Zuckerberg and Elton Musk the future of artificial intelligence looks surprisingly close.  According to this source (Silicon Angle), the research of AI is one of great importance to the IT industry. Not only will AI further develop computing but also create better interface for social media such as Facebook. Could AI be the greatest development in IT in the next five to ten years.

Again another source that shows how big the video game industry is expected to grow. Gartner research team  reassures that  the gaming industry has several more years of expanding. With huge developers such as Activision and Bethesda bring out new games each year which define the laws of what was thought possible, its is clear that the gaming industry could possibly be one of the biggest trends in IT in the next five to ten years.

With tens of new tablets and mobile devices arriving each year, its important to be informed which is the latest and greatest. This source includes the top five tablet devices in the author's opinion released this year in 2014. From the notorious Apple Ipad to the latest Samsung Note 10, all devices are reviewed and critiqued. With more units sold each year, tablets devices are definitely on the rise and is possible that these slick, shiny little devices could dominate trends in the IT industry in the next five to ten years.
