50 Apps That Clarify 50 New Ways To Learn

50 Apps That Clarify 50 New Ways To Learn | In the Library and out in the world | Scoop.it

"Learning through play. Self-directed learning. Flipped learning. Mobile learning. Collaborative learning. Social learning. It’s all here. Alone, none offer the turn-key approach to education that textbooks have traditionally turned to, but that’s part of the strength. As education technology grows, we can adapt to new learning models that take advantage of the fragmented but enormous potential of self-directed, creative, collaborative, and almost entirely mobile learning."

I really like how students are asked to pose questions and do teaching in many of these "alternatives." It also seems wise that the teacher can help students as they're doing the work.
Danielle Howard's comment, February 20, 2014 10:32 PM
Even though this chart is not directly related to PBL, it makes you think about everyday assignments that are formatted the same way. The students are posing the questions and offers alternatives to traditional assessments.
Olivia Jackson's comment, February 20, 2014 11:58 PM
These ideas are actually "connecting" to topics in some of my other Education classes (EDCI461, for example). I see the connection to PBL, too!

"This school year I've worked with a few school districts that are using Google Apps for Education for the first time. A lot of what I have done with those school districts is help to get the teachers acclimated to using Google Drive. When I sat down to plan an upcoming Google Drive training session I thought about some of the essential Google Drive skills that teachers need in addition to creating documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
