EMS is well known to anyone with an interest in shrimp farming, but the estimate that the disease is costing the industry $1 billion per year and pushing up global prices is interesting... I wonder just how much is being invested in scientific research into this disease and potential management solutions?  My guess is that it is below 1% of these loss levels...
